The Oak Hill School educational philosophy stresses healthy bodies as well as healthy, curious minds. We encourage active lifestyles and exploration of the wide world. Sports, athletics, and outdoor pursuits are key elements of the OHS program.
Every student, K-12 has P.E. class daily.
Our Lower School has several Oak Hill School sponsored teams in soccer, basketball, and other sports depending upon demand and interest.
Middle School students participate in OHS team sports in girls' and boys' basketball, girls' volleyball, and cross country.
All Middle School students complete regular coursework in our long-established Outdoor Pursuits program. In addition to learning basic survival and orienteering skills, students undertake stepped challenges-- the 6th graders perform an extended snow and exploration hike in the Cascades, our 7th graders challenge themselves in a three day snow camping trip, and the 8th grade completes an ascent of South Sister mountain.
Upper School OHS students are eligible to compete in the annual Pole-Pedal-Paddle triathlon event in Bend, Oregon.
Oak Hill School high schoolers compete in team sports in Track and Field, Cross Country, Debate, and Volleyball as a member school in the OHSA. We are aligned in the Mountain West Conference.
Additionally, we have high school students who participate in swimming, tennis, skiing, soccer, softball, water polo, lacrosse, baseball, and football as members of their neighborhood schools.
