Oak Hill Middle School Grows Amid Local District Changes

Oak Hill School is expanding its middle school program, reflecting ongoing efforts to provide high-quality education to the greater Eugene area. The expansion comes as interest grows in schools that offer small classes, personalized instruction, and opportunities for meaningful engagement.

Recent budget changes and program adjustments in the Eugene and Springfield education landscapes have prompted some families to explore independent school settings, particularly for students seeking advanced learning opportunitiesOak Hill School's expanded middle school program is intended to help meet these emerging needs by offering a rigorous curriculum and a close-knit learning community.

Chrissa Dockendorf, Director of Enrollment, said, "We know that families are looking for stability, enrichment, and a place where their child's unique strengths are celebrated. At Oak Hill, we are committed to supporting local learners, especially as changes in public education affect access to important programs. Our expansion is a direct response to what we are seeing in the community, and we look forward to welcoming new students who are ready to thrive."

The expanded middle school program will maintain Oak Hill's emphasis on fostering critical thinking and student engagement. Experiential education, hands-on projects, and a range of outdoor programs are central features of the curriculum, which is designed to encourage curiosity and help students develop practical skills for success in high school and beyond.

To help families learn more, Oak Hill School will hold a Middle School Information Night on Wednesday, February 25, at 6 p.m. The event is open to families affected by recent changes in local districts. Attendees can learn more about financial aid and support for district-impacted families. Class sizes in the middle school will remain limited. With only 30 seats available for the Information Night, families are encouraged to RSVP by February 18 to secure their spot. Email cdockendorf@oakhillschool.net.
