Summer Camps

Open to the public, Camp Wild Oaks is situated on 72 acres in Eugene’s South Hills near Lane Community College on the Oak Hill School campus. Camp Wild Oaks offers fun and enriching week-long summer camps for kids entering grades K-8.
It’s an amazing place for kids to play, explore, learn, and go wild!

  • Rising Kinders Full Day Camps

    June 29- July 2 *no camp July 3
    Garden Goobers
    Get ready for a fun summer adventure in the garden! Campers will smell, taste, play, and learn among the plants and flowers while exploring the natural world around them.

    Kids will dig in the soil, search for bugs, and discover the unique plants that make up our native food forest and pollinator garden. Through hands-on exploration and outdoor play, campers will build curiosity, confidence, and a love for gardening and nature.

    July 6-10
    Pollinator Pals
    Get ready to flutter, buzz, and explore the amazing world of pollinators! In this hands-on camp, kids will discover the fascinating lives of bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other creatures that help our plants grow.

    Campers will explore gardens and meadows, learn how bees make honey, create pollinator-themed crafts, and discover how they can help protect these tiny but mighty helpers. Through outdoor adventures, games, and creative projects, students will build a deeper appreciation for nature and the important role pollinators play in our world.

    July 13-17
    Fantastical Forest Fantasy
    Step into a world of magic, mystery, and adventure! In this imaginative camp, children will explore enchanted woods, create their own mythical characters, and bring fantasy stories to life through storytelling and outdoor exploration.

    Campers will embark on woodland quests, search for hidden fairy realms, and learn about real plants, animals, and fungi along the way. They will also craft fairy homes, wands, potions, and enchanted maps using natural materials. Each day unfolds like a new chapter in a magical adventure filled with creativity, nature, and discovery.

    July 27-31
    Dino Discovery
    Travel back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the land that is now the Pacific Northwest. In this camp for kindergarteners, young explorers will imagine ancient forests filled with giant ferns, towering trees, and changing landscapes shaped by volcanoes and time.

    Campers will search for “fossils” in sand and soil, observe plants like ferns and moss to imagine prehistoric forests, and enjoy dinosaur stories, songs, and hands-on activities. They will also create their own fossils and artifacts while learning about the dinosaurs that once lived in our region. A week of discovery perfect for curious young paleontologists!

    August 3-7
    Aqua Adventure
    This camp explores the wonders of water through play, discovery, and creativity!

    Campers will create water-inspired art, explore pond life, and take on fun challenges like Melt the Cube. They’ll also build and float boats from recycled materials and cool off with water games like relays, water limbo, and a splashy twist on duck, duck, goose. 

    August 10-14
    Beach Week
    Beach Week brings the magic of the shore to camp, no coastline required. Campers will explore beach habitats, sea creatures, and the many textures found along the shoreline through hands-on activities and imaginative play.

    Campers will learn about coastal animals, explore sensory activities inspired by the beach, and practice beginner beachcombing skills while learning how to explore safely. Along the way, they’ll collect, observe, and learn about seashells during a week full of sandy, splashy fun.


  • Rising 1st & 2nd Graders Full Day Camps

    June 29- July 2 *no camp July 3
    Hooting, Howling, and Hiding
    Step into the wild and explore the thrilling world of hunters and the hunted! In this outdoor adventure camp, kids will discover the fascinating survival strategies animals use to find food and stay safe.

    Campers will learn to identify animal tracks, scat, and calls while exploring local habitats. Through games, creative projects, and hands-on activities, they’ll experience predator and prey dynamics and see how camouflage, speed, and teamwork help animals survive. It’s a week of nature, adventure, and discovery in the wild!

    July 6-10
    Teas, Trees, and Tie Dye
    Campers will explore the science and stories of trees while experimenting with natural dyes and creating their own herbal tea blends. Much of the camp takes place outdoors as students observe, create, harvest, and connect with the natural world.
     
    Campers will try both natural and traditional tie dye, make and dye their own paper, learn about trees on nature walks, and create sun tea blends. Through hands-on projects that engage all five senses, campers will practice stewardship and head home with handmade creations, new skills, and a deeper connection to nature.

    July 13-17
    Wacky World of Water
    Splish, splash, and dive into a week of watery fun! This nature-based camp explores the wonders of water through hands-on play and outdoor discovery.

    Campers will create water-themed crafts, discover fascinating critters that live in lakes and streams, and cool off with exciting water games. From sprinklers to stream explorations, each day is filled with creativity, curiosity, and plenty of splashes. Join us for a week of wacky, wet, and wonderful fun in nature!

    July 27-31
    Nature Crafters
    Nature Crafting is a hands-on camp where young artists explore the outdoors while transforming natural materials into creative works of art. Campers will gather leaves, twigs, rocks, and other natural elements to inspire their projects.

    They will learn nature-based crafting techniques like weaving, nature printing, and clay sculpting while exploring Oak Hill’s forest for inspiration. Along the way, campers will discover the beauty of sustainable art and the importance of caring for the natural world.

    August 3-7
    Silly Summer Snackers
    A week full of creativity, curiosity, and culinary fun! Perfect for kids who love to play with their food, campers will work with kid-friendly ingredients to create imaginative and delicious snacks.
    Each day brings a new opportunity to design, build, and taste something tasty. Campers will explore new flavors, arrange foods in creative ways, gain hands-on kitchen experience, and create a recipe book to take home. It’s a week of playful cooking and tasty discoveries!

    August 10-14
    Field Day Fun
    Get ready for a week bursting with energy, sunshine, and outdoor fun! This camp is perfect for kids who love to move, explore, and make new friends.

    Campers will play classic group games like capture the flag and dodgeball, enjoy picnics and walks in the forest, and create classic camp crafts like beaded bracelets, lanyards, and perler bead designs. There will also be plenty of time for recess with music, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk, plus optional face paint or glitter tattoos. A week full of laughter, movement, and classic summer camp fun!


  • Rising 3rd, 4th, & 5th Graders Full Day Camps

    June 29- July 2 *no camp July 3
    Plants, Potions, and Portals
    Step into the magic of the natural world and discover the power of plants. In this hands-on camp, young explorers will learn about herbs, foraging, and simple plant-based creations while spending time outdoors.

    Campers will learn to safely identify and gather wild herbs and flowers, create teas, salves, and herbal blends, and explore forests and meadows while learning about the traditions of plant medicine. Along the way, they will deepen their understanding of how people and plants are connected and the importance of respecting the traditional ecological knowledge Indigenous communities have shared for generations.

    Through storytelling, outdoor exploration, and creative projects, campers will connect with the land and discover the wonders of the plant world.

    July 6-10
    Big Flavor, Young Chefs
    Calling all young food lovers! In this outdoor cooking camp, kids will mix, chop, and cook their way through a week of delicious, hands-on adventures.

    Campers will learn the basics of campfire cooking, practice fire safety, and explore techniques like grilling, roasting, and Dutch oven baking. They will also forage for edible herbs and plants to add fresh flavors to their creations and make tasty meals from campfire pizzas to creative s’mores. With teamwork, cooking challenges, and plenty of fresh air, this camp is perfect for young chefs who love food and the outdoors.

    July 13-17
    Wild Bakers
    Wild Bakers is a cooking camp focused on all things baked. Campers will use herbs, edible flowers, and other natural ingredients to create both savory and sweet baked goods while exploring the connection between nature and food.

    Campers will decorate treats with edible flowers, harvest fresh herbs to flavor breads and muffins, and learn the basics of baking like measuring, kneading dough, and working with yeast. Along the way, they’ll practice teamwork, kitchen safety, and creative recipe design while discovering the science behind baking. Each camper will leave with new skills, recipes, and the confidence to bake at home.

    July 27-31
    Water, Fire, and Air
    Get ready to explore the power of the elements! In this hands-on camp, young adventurers will discover how water, fire, and air shape the natural world through experiments, outdoor challenges, and playful learning.

    Campers will splash and explore water and the critters that rely on it, learn safe fire-building and cooking techniques, and create wind-powered crafts while experimenting with air currents. Through play and exploration, they’ll gain a deeper connection to the elements and how they shape our world. 

    August 3-7
    Superheroes of the Forest
    Step onto the Oak Hill campus and discover the hidden superpowers of the forest. In this camp, young explorers become nature’s protectors as they learn how the forest works together to thrive.

    Campers will practice stewardship skills, explore symbiotic relationships in nature, and learn to identify local plants. They will also have opportunities to creatively imagine and express their own “Forest Superhero” identity while building a deeper connection to the natural world.

    August 10-14
    Creative Creatures and Creepy Critters
    Campers will journey to a different biome each day, discovering the strange, brilliant, and sometimes creepy adaptations that help animals survive in their unique habitats. This camp is perfect for curious adventurers who are ready to explore the mysteries of nature.

    Campers will learn about a variety of biomes, investigate fascinating plants like carnivorous species, and create their own imaginative “creepy creatures.” Through classic camp games with a twist, they’ll also explore how different adaptations help animals survive in the wild.
  • Rising 6th, 7th, & 8th Graders Full Day Camps

    June 29-July 2 *no camp July 3
    Herbalism and Nature Crafting
    Through creativity, exploration, and outdoor fun, campers will develop artistic skills while connecting with the natural world. They will learn to identify, grow, and use common medicinal plants to make teas, salves, and herbal sprays.

    Campers will explore Oak Hill’s forest for inspiration, practice nature-based crafting techniques like weaving, nature printing, and clay sculpting, and create their own herbal products to take home. Along the way, they’ll play with flowers, meet new plants, and discover the beauty of nature-inspired art.

    July 6-10
    Wild Bakers 
    Middle school campers will experiment with herbs, edible flowers, and foraged ingredients to create both savory and sweet baked goods while exploring how flavors come together.

    Campers will decorate treats with edible flowers, harvest fresh herbs to flavor breads and muffins, and learn the science of baking by experimenting with yeast, kneading dough, and baking simple loaves and flatbreads. Along the way, they will practice measuring, teamwork, kitchen safety, and creative recipe design, leaving with new skills, recipes, and the confidence to bake at home.

    July 13-17
    Wild Chefs
    Middle schoolers will get hands-on experience exploring seasonal ingredients, cooking delicious dishes, and learning new skills. Through interactive challenges, taste tests, and teamwork, campers will build confidence in the kitchen while honing the skills they already have.


Wild Oaks Day Camps

Wild Oaks Day Camp is our traditional summer camp style experience for rising K-5th graders. Each week has a fresh new theme where campers can participate in activities including outdoor games, arts and crafts, fun challenges, and a weekly talent show!

Cost
  • Full Day Camp 9 a.m.-3 p.m. – $350 per week
    • *Week of June 29-July 2 - $280 
  • Half Day Camp 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - $190 per week
  • Before Care 8-9 a.m. – $35 per week pre-registration required
  • After Care 3-5 p.m. – $70 per week pre-registration required
A 15% sibling discount will be automatically applied at check-out for those registering more than one child.

We know that summer is a special time for kids to make lasting memories. We want to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to experience the magic of summer camp. What to Bring To Camp!

We provide the materials for all the fun, but there are still some things campers need to bring to have the best summer ever!

Don’t forget your…

  • Closed-toed shoes with a back-strap
  • Sunscreen and/or a hat
  • Change of clothes
  • Rain jacket (just in case)
  • Any medication you require

NOTE:
 We are a mainly outdoor campus so please don’t bring extra toys or unnecessary items that could get lost.
